I graduated with a Mass Communications degree last year. Right now, I am planning to have further studies in digital communication as we all know everything is going digital already.
Take for example magazines and newspapers which has already decreased their number of print publications so they can make way for the digital world. There are also some services which can now be done through websites or apps, which for me are way lot easier, more convenient, and even cost effective.
For my masters degree, I am thinking of taking a course that is related to marketing and public relations n the digital world. I know, this shall involve media production, online magazine publishing and reporting, and even app development and app marketing and public relations.
According to an article I read and from the advise of a known Vancouver realtor, marketing and public relations are two different types. Sometimes, I mistook them as one which is not true. For marketing, it means that you are selling the product directly to your customers through a series of nicely executed strategies and programs.
It involves the direct customers and clients who are interested in the service or product. As for public relations, it involves forming nice camaraderie and rapport with stakeholders and media people.
These are the things I am mostly interested too since I graduated because I have been immersed to business industries so I am more than excited to learn more when I get back to school!
